Composing with a looper pedal - Improvise for Real
Are you curious about looping? In this video I'll show you how the looper pedal works and how easy it is to create your own loops with what you already know from the IFR practice. Looping is a great tool to compose, improvise and perform, but it can also be a tool to learn music. When you use the looper to create your own music, you are developing your rhythm, your creativity, and you are learning new harmonic material. In this video I'll show you two different approaches to looping: the metaphor of the music band (using the different layers as the voices of a musical group) and the improvised and blended layers (creating each layer in an improvised way). 00:00 How does a looper pedal work? 00:34 Creating loops with the metaphor of the music band 01:14 Looping with different instruments 01:51 Showing you my octave pedal 02:23 Building a first loop with chord 5 04:55 Building a second loop with chords 2 and 5 07:26 New looping approach: ostinato and improvised layers 09:09 Building a third loop with our new approach 11:19 Using the looper to learn music If you want to see my looping videos, check out my personal YouTube Channel or my Instagram: Mireia's Instagram - https://bit.ly/3Bc8WJn Mireia's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP5yL3eOPzYJZEj55wpR3Dw?sub_confirmation=1 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ♫♪ SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell to see a new video each Monday: https://www.youtube.com/user/ImproviseForReal?sub_confirmation=1 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ RESOURCES & LINKS: ♢ IMPROVISE FOR REAL, complete method for all instruments: https://bit.ly/3BnZaEn ♢ IFR JAM TRACKS LEVEL 1, SEVEN WORLDS: https://bit.ly/3ktBKqN ♢ SING THE NUMBERS 2: This is my new sequential audio course that will take your ear training to the next level with this deep exploration of the seven harmonic environments. Country Roads (fiddle lesson)
The John Denver song, Country Roads, is a very well known country song, and ideal for the fiddle player. In this Fiddle lesson I do a walkthrough of the song; the intro, verse, chorus and bridge. I suggest shuffle patterns to use on the chorus, and use of the major blues scale to create an easy solo. Below are details of further fiddle resources from Chris Haigh 1. Patreon 2. Books 3.
