The Pipe on the Hob (in Am)
Traditional Irish jig on the fiddle. I learned this from a Bothy Band album. Not to be confused with another Pipe on the Hob, which is a jig in D.

Finding satisfaction in the musical journey | Joel Grainger | TEDxSquareMile
Joel is on stage with a violin and a pedal loop station. A few seconds later, the audience is carried away by a stunning cover of Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River. In this beautiful and mesmerizing performance, Joel tells us to strive for excellence and be like that one bus driver we have all come across once who just loves his job and puts a smile on everyone’s face. Composer and violinist Joel Grainger. He was classically trained but is now exploring a dynamic range of musical styles, from Indian Classical to Hip Hop, giving him a real ability to be creative with the violin. Whilst still at the beginning of his musical career, he is gaining a wealth of experience. This includes selection as a UK finalist for the BOSS World Looping Championships, writing and recording for a number of producers, artists and composers (including recently for a BBC documentary), and the recent filming for an appearance on BBC’s ‘The One Show’. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://bit.ly/3ev4Dyn

Presonus Revelator Review Follow Up - Headphone Port Test + Other FAQs
Presonus Revelator Review Follow Up - Headphone Port Test + Other FAQs I love the PreSonus Revelator USB Microphone - but one subscriber at least was not so impressed. He had a few moans about the microphone. So in this follow on to my detailed review, I take a closer look at the issues he mentioned: the quality of the headphone port audio output; the issue of picking up desktop noise; the issue of connecting the Revelator to a different microphone stand. So what's the verdict? I stand by my original review. For the money, the PreSonus Revelator is a great value microphone. The software bundle alone - with StudioOne Artist included - makes it an excellent purchase. And I thought the headphone port audio was great. But what do you think? Do post a comment. *** Links *** Soundcloud track - audio recorded through the Revelator then played back through the headphone port of the Revelator, the Audio Technica AT2020USB+ and the Shure MV51 for comparison https://bit.ly/2RV7Z6e My ultimate guide to USB microphones - all my video reviews and original audio recordings in one place, with links out to detailed reviews https://bit.ly/2VH3JEv *** Gear (nb these are affiliate links. Roxanna Waltz (fiddle lesson)
Roxanna Waltz is a classic bluegrass waltz written by Kenny Baker. In this fiddle lesson I show a basic form of the melody, in the key of C. Then a more complex version with double stops and triplets, moving through a key change into A. I suggest fingerings for the more difficult sections, and use on-screen sheet music throughout. Many of the techniques in this video will be included in my forthcoming book "Exploring Country and Bluegrass Fiddle", due to be published by Schott in October 2021.
