20 licks for Minor Swing (gypsy jazz violin)
Minor Swing, written by Django Reinhardt, is one of the most widely played of all Gypsy Jazz tunes. In this Violin lesson lesson I demonstrate 20 licks that you can use when soloing over the Minor Swing chord sequence. The licks are categorised; arpeggio licks, harmonic minor licks, minor blues licks, chord substitutions, original Grappelli licks and so on. I show how in many cases the licks can be repeated over different chords, either with or without transposition. I also show how they can be modified rhythmically or melodically to make the improvisation more flexible and creative. Below are details of further fiddle resources from Chris Haigh 1. Patreon 2. I'm learning a new tune a day. Today I'm playing at a Celtic Festival with Killarney and also with some other trad folks, and one of these fine folks recently gave me a list of a couple dozen sets. I looked up and down the list to find a tune to learn today, and this is the one I chose. I learned it from a youtube video of the Vallely Brothers with Tiarnan O Duinnchinn. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKwIMtdC7Ho). It's a simple reel. For more tunes everyday, visit https://bit.ly/3i1pdJm. Send me tune suggestions if you have any ideas!

Introducing Kazuki Yamada as Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the CBSO
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) is delighted to announce that Japanese conductor Kazuki Yamada has been appointed as its Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor with effect from 1 April 2023 for an initial four and a half-year period. Yamada made his debut with the CBSO in 2012 and has been the Orchestra’s Principal Guest Conductor since October 2018. Following an intensive search process led by a committee made up of CBSO musicians, Board members and management, and with strong support from the Orchestra, a unanimous decision was made by the Board of Trustees to invite Kazuki to be the CBSO’s next Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor. He succeeds Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, who has led the orchestra since 2016. Born in Japan, Kazuki Yamada will become the first non-European to lead the CBSO. Yamada is also Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. In Japan he holds further titles of Permanent Conductor of the Japan Philharmonic and Principal Guest Conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. The CBSO is known for performing the widest range of orchestral and choral music, and Yamada will continue this tradition in his role as Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor. His performances are marked by his trademark physicality and energy, and he will continue to build on the deep connections he has already forged with the musicians and audiences alike. Kazuki Yamada commented: “I first worked with the CBSO in 2012 and immediately felt a very sincere connection with the players. This connection has really grown and developed over the last 9 years; our tour together to Japan in 2016 was one of the highlights of my career. After this the relationship was even deeper. I am so happy, thrilled and above all honoured to be continuing our journey together as the Orchestra’s Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor”. CBSO Players' Committee Chair Joanna Patton commented: ‘Kazuki is a kind, respectful musician filled with an energy which connects the Orchestra with a sense of magic. His concerts are stories without words, filled with emotion, freedom and a sense of trust that is simultaneously exhilarating and rewarding. We can't wait to continue to share this most special connection with our audiences both here in Birmingham and further afield.’ CBSO Leader Eugene Tzikindelean commented: ‘I have rarely met a musician that is more faithful to the score or as respectful to the orchestra, whilst also being a brilliant and virtuosic Maestro. I honestly don’t know what I love most about playing with him: his impeccable technique, his exquisite taste in music, style, or the depth of his artistic thoughts. I’m really looking forward to many years of making music together - with deep love and respect for the music, but also with the incredible panache that I’m sure will swiftly become our trademark.’ CBSO Chief Executive Stephen Maddock commented: ‘It is with genuine delight and huge excitement that the CBSO makes today’s announcement. From his very first concerts with us, there was an immediate rapport between Kazuki and our musicians, and enormous respect for his musicianship and craft. Over time that has only deepened, and I know that those who have already seen Kazuki conduct the Orchestra will be as thrilled as we are by this news. His energy, dynamism and precision make for electrifying concerts and I have no doubt that audiences in Birmingham and beyond will very quickly come to await his next performances as eagerly as our musicians already do, as we embark on new musical adventures together.’

How to perform object motion tracking in Camtasia 2021 | Motion Tracking Tutorial
How to track a moving object in Camtasia 2021. Camtasia doesn't have motion tracking natively and I don't know if they're going to introduce that anytime soon, but I want to show you how you can actually still track an object to an acceptable level, depending on the movement you want to track, the length of your video and the desired precision. It is a manual process, but if you're stuck or you are in a bind or you need to do a tracking on an object to follow something or to add blur to an area on your video that is moving, can still do it using plain old animations in Camtasia. in this video I am going to walk you through a few things that you can use to make this tracking job easier, some options and preferences to change to make it smoother, and then I'm going to show you how to track movement across a video clip with another object. If you think about it, even in Adobe Premiere or other video editing programs that do have motion tracking, what happens is the tracking is the same - the object is moved frame by frame to a new location, and all that the tracking does is really just follow something, notices the shift in pixels to make sure that it's moving that object to the new coordinates. So ultimately, even these more professional video editors do end up generating key frames for every single frame. What we will be doing in this Camtasia tutorial, we will be approximating the movement of the object from frame to frame, but depending on your movement, we can get away with not actually doing it frame by frame, because Camtasia can create all the frames in-between. We need to change the default easing for the animation. By default Camtasia creates what is called easing, and it doesn't create linear easing - it creates a exponential in and out, so we are changing that to avoid having to change it for every little segment, and prevent our tracking object from stuttering during the motion. After we create a general animation from the start and end of our tracked segment, we then proceed to cut it half way every time, until the movement becomes more accurate and tracks the object closer and closer. Finally, we employ the use of the keyboard to really dive deep and create frame by frame keyframes where we need it to track the object more closely. Now, depending on the length of your video, obviously this may be too tedious to do so I am aware it may not work for all situations, but like I said, all of the other software does exactly the same, except it does it automatically. This is one way to create manual object tracking in Camtasia. Obviously, you need to decide on a specific point to follow, and you have a tracking object tracking another object. So this can be useful if you need to maybe blur out some areas in your clip somewhere, you have some confidential information or something that cannot be seen like someone's face or something else that you want to track across a video clip. Depending on the length of that, just create your object and just keep moving it. And if you need to blur out some areas, you may not even need this much of, accuracy on tracking, you just need it to be roughly in the area it needs to be, and just keep moving it with the keys and create these frames automatically by enabling that easing that is linear. I know Camtasia doesn't have tracking and it's not automatic, but if you really need to do it and incorporate this in your project, this is one way to do it. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. However they do output stereo, or left and right audio. S0, if you hard pan one channel left and another channel all the way to the right, you can record a stereo file that will contain microphone one only on the left side and microphone two only on the right. Or you can set up your DAW to record two separate mono tracks – one from the left and one from the right. This allows you to give each track its own customized FX within the DAW, as well as remove unwanted audio that would otherwise be blended together with the other channel. Great if you want to record two separate sources, such as a guitar and a mic at the same time – but on separate tracks. It’s also excellent for podcasters who have two hosts and want to record audio of each on their own track for further processing in the edit. Autumn Leaves; easy ways to create a jazz violin solo
Autumn Leaves is one of the best known and best loved minor key jazz standards, and perfect for the jazz violinist. In this lesson I examine various simple approaches to soloing. Firstly, using the natural minor scale, then the harmonic minor scale. We then try the minor pentatonic and minor blues scales, before finally treating the sequence as a series of II/V/I's. USB Mic Setup on Windows 10 #shorts

USB Mic Setup on Windows 10 #shorts USB Mic not working well on Windows 10? Here are three tips to improve your setup in less than 60 seconds. This video was filmed on Windows 10 using the Audio Techncia AT2020USB+ USB Microphone. It works fine, but there are a couple of things you need to know. ✅ Tip 1: Make sure you download and install any drivers - most USB mics are plug and play, but not all ✅ Tip 2: Right-click the speaker icon in the Windows task bar, or search for the Sound Settings app. Open up the Microphone Privacy Settings and check you have not blocked the mic from working! (Sometimes it defaults to this, and you have to change it) ✅ Tip 3: Open up the Sound Control Panel, click on the Recording tab, and make sure your USB mic is the default recording device. Then click on the Properties button and the Levels tab - often when you plug in a USB mic the level seems to default to a really low level. You can increase it here ✅ ** Bonus Tip ** If you cannot hear anything after plugging in your USB mic, it may have become the default playback device! Plug headphones into your mic to hear what is going on. Or change the default playback device to your computer speakers if you prefer. Compare USB Microphones here - see them in action, hear hi-res recordings, see detailed specs https://bit.ly/2VH3JEv Do you like the sound of the Audio Technica AT2020USB+ then buy it here (affiliate link - as an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases) https://bit.ly/30ACmAk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ❤️ Love this video? Death don't have no mercy (violin Lesson)
Death don't Have No Mercy in this Land is an old 16- bar blues song, first made famous by Rev Gary Davis. In this Blues violin lesson, I first show the basic melody. I then show how the feel and sound can be improved by sliding, false harmonics, double E notes, and filling the spaces at the end of the lines. Finally I demonstrate two ways of approaching a solo; firstly using the E minor blues scale, and secondly by following the chords more closely. I use on-screen sheet music, available free to subscribers. (See below) Below are details of further fiddle resources from Chris Haigh 1. Patreon 2. Books 3. Subscription video courses 4. Website 5. Are you curious about looping? In this video I'll show you how the looper pedal works and how easy it is to create your own loops with what you already know from the IFR practice. Looping is a great tool to compose, improvise and perform, but it can also be a tool to learn music. When you use the looper to create your own music, you are developing your rhythm, your creativity, and you are learning new harmonic material. In this video I'll show you two different approaches to looping: the metaphor of the music band (using the different layers as the voices of a musical group) and the improvised and blended layers (creating each layer in an improvised way). 00:00 How does a looper pedal work? 00:34 Creating loops with the metaphor of the music band 01:14 Looping with different instruments 01:51 Showing you my octave pedal 02:23 Building a first loop with chord 5 04:55 Building a second loop with chords 2 and 5 07:26 New looping approach: ostinato and improvised layers 09:09 Building a third loop with our new approach 11:19 Using the looper to learn music If you want to see my looping videos, check out my personal YouTube Channel or my Instagram: Mireia's Instagram - https://bit.ly/3Bc8WJn Mireia's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP5yL3eOPzYJZEj55wpR3Dw?sub_confirmation=1 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ♫♪ SUBSCRIBE and hit the bell to see a new video each Monday: https://www.youtube.com/user/ImproviseForReal?sub_confirmation=1 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ RESOURCES & LINKS: ♢ IMPROVISE FOR REAL, complete method for all instruments: https://bit.ly/3BnZaEn ♢ IFR JAM TRACKS LEVEL 1, SEVEN WORLDS: https://bit.ly/3ktBKqN ♢ SING THE NUMBERS 2: This is my new sequential audio course that will take your ear training to the next level with this deep exploration of the seven harmonic environments.
