You can buy this owl at: http://amzn.to/1giVcSp I've seen plenty of pictures of these molds working out. There are so many to try! Skulls, Sun with Clouds, Pig, Smile Face, etc....So when I saw it at Amazon, I had to try it......and film it. As you can see, I had some issues! It came out okay and the kids loved it. But I want it to have much cleaner lines! What would you suggest I do for my next attempt? I really want this to work.

Sync Piano Playing Video To Audio Recording: Lesson 17 Sync Piano Playing Video To Audio Recording: Lesson 17 In this video you will learn how to make a great sounding audio recording of your piano playing and sync it to a video. There are two ways to go about this. One is to make a high quality audio sound recording of your playing through an audio interface on your computer (or using something like a Zoom H2), at the same time film yourself, then use video editing software to line up the two files, remove the audio track on your video file, and then product a finished video with the sound you recorded. The other option is to purchase an audio interface that will allow you to record directly on your iPad or iPhone (there are many available) so that as you play the piano for the video (which you record on your iPhone or iPad) you record the sound of your piano or keyboard directly onto the iPhone at the same time and so the video and audio are already perfectly synced. If you watch through I demonstrate how to line the sound and video file up, remove the audio from the video file, then trim, produce and share. For the first example I am using a GoPro to record the video, and my Avid audio interface to record the audio directly on my Windows Laptop. I also show you the result where I have made a video using my iPad, with the same audio interface connected up to record the sound directly. There was no fiddling about having to line up files for this example. The video editing software I use in this demo is Camtasia, partly because I want to record my screen at the same time, but most video editing software will allow you to do these basic operations. This is not a super complicated demo! Whichever you choose to do, you will need to have mastered recording the sound of your digital piano or keyboard. This is the last in a whole video series that shows you just how to do this step-by-step. You can record your keyboard using a simple audio cable and the built in recording capability of your computer or tablet, but for best results I recommend using a proper audio interface. Then you simply connect the GoPro to your computer via USB and the files auto transfer ready for editing. Brilliantly easy (I am no video expert! If I can do it then you can too.....). NB to get the functionality of the app you need the GoPro with wi-fi. I'm using the GoPro Hero4 Black edition, you can do the same thing with the Hero4 Silver which is slightly cheaper. http://bit.ly/1L3S7TX It is also possible, if you have a fast enough computer and good video editing software, to record the sound via an audio interface and the video via a camera connected to your computer, so that the two are recorded simultaneously in video capture software. More often than not you will require a camera connection kit (or USB-iPad adapter) to do this, unless you purchase a keyboard that come with an iPad cable. MIDI Keyboard Setup on Mac: Connect Keyboard Lesson 15 MIDI Keyboard Setup on Mac: Connect Keyboard Lesson 15 In this video you will learn how to set up your MIDI keyboard or USB-MIDI MIDI inteface connected to digital piano on your Mac. Firstly follow the instructions with your MIDI Controller Keyboard or MIDI-USB interface and connect it up to the USB port on your Mac. Next go to the launchpad on Mac and open up the Audio MIDI Setup app. From there Show MIDI Window (Command-2) and you should be able to see your available MIDI device(s). You can test the setup of the keyboard or interface very easily. Now most important! Shut the MIDI window and QUIT the Audio MIDI Setup completely. If you do not do that then you will continue to hear beeping and feedback from the test setup utility while you are trying to record in Garageband or other software. And you will wonder what on earth is going on! Once you have your MIDI Keyboard, MIDI interface, or Audio Interface with MIDI correctly connected up you should automatically be able to create keybaord and other MIDI tracks within Garageband. Carson paid a visit to Anna and Elsa at their Meet and Greet location inside Princess Fairy Tale Hall in Fantasyland of Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom recently. Since April of 2014, Anna and Elsa have been a couple of the most popular after Disney characters in recent memory. Princess Fairy Tall Hall, inside Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, underwent a recent addition to hold more princesses and has seemed to fit the bill as a perfect spot for DisneyWorld guests to visit Anna and Elsa. On one side of the Hall are Anna and Elsa while on the other side of the Hall is Cinderella and Rapunzel. Each visiting room holds two photo spots, so as you can see in this video it's entirely possible to see three princesses on a single visit. This video was shot on May 10th, 2014. As of that date, guests were able to have their pictures taken with both Anna and Elsa at the same time. As of July 2014, Anna and Elsa are now located in the same room but in different photo spots, so you won't be able to have your photo taken with both Anna and Elsa at the same time. In our video, Anna and Elsa are at one photo spot inside the room while Aurora is at the other photo spot. Our video only shows Carson meeting with Anna and Elsa.

MIDI Keyboard Setup In MIDI Software: Lesson 14 MIDI Keyboard Setup In MIDI Software: Lesson 14 In this video you will learn how to set up your MIDI keyboard in different kinds of MIDI software. Usually there is a MIDI settings or preferences menu, and often you need to enable your keyboard controller within the software before it will work. Whether you are using a MIDI keyboard controller or a digital piano or keyboard connected up via audio MIDI interface the same principles will apply. So you will see step by step how to set up and enable MIDI input and output in Reaper DAW audio recording software, Sibelius Notation Software, Synthesia (a simple MIDI software game for learning piano, Ignite (another audio production software package which comes with M-Audio products) and finally in Mixcraft recording software. Hopefully by the end of the video you will be able to set up your home recording studio with a MIDI keyboard controller and whatever software you wish to use. The main steps are: install your keyboard or MIDI interface according to the manual for your device, and check it is showing up in the Windows control panel (or in audio midi setup if you are on mac) then make sure your keyboard is connected and switched on before starting up your MIDI software. If you have done all that correctly then you should find your MIDI device in the settings or preferences menu. Bear in mind you may need to enable it to get it to work. TechSmith only has a few basic tutorials available for animation in general. Nothing too fancy soI spent a few hours playing around with Camtasia and I figured out how to pull it off using .png images and the animation function. Need to make your own .png text images? MIDI Setup on Windows: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 13 MIDI Setup on Windows: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 13 In this video you will learn the basics of how you set up your MIDI devices on Windows and check they are properly installed. I demonstrate with two different MIDI devices, and I did this for several reasons: Firstly it clearly shows the choices and set up in the software and in the control panel and hopefully at least one will look exactly like your keyboard or interface. Secondly it could be that you have two devices to choose from if you've got a keyboard that connects with USB and you've also got an audio interface with MIDI input and output. So this shows you how you can easily choose between the two devices in the windows control panel and within the software. Having more than one is not a problem as long as you know what to do in the software. Finally it demonstrates that a USB keyboard works behaves just the same as a MIDI-USB interface(or an audio interface with MIDI i/o) so hopefully this will give you the confidence that whatever setup you've got you will be able to get it working in the software that you choose. Getting MIDI set up correctly is one of the crucial steps when starting your home recording studio journey. The first MIDI device I look at is a Roland UM-One USB MIDI interface whic is connected up to the MIDI In and Out on the back of my digital piano, and the other end is connected to a USB port on my windows laptop. Then I've also got a Samson Graphite 25 USB MIDI controller keyboard. I demonstrate how to use this alongside the Roland interface to show you how you could choose between the two keyboards very easily. The Graphite keyboard doesn't actually have any on-board sound but it works very similarly to how your keyboard will work if it has a USB connection. To set up the Roland UM-One I first had to install drivers to get it working on Windows, and I also had to do the same on the Mac. It was easy to do this, I just followed the instructions in the packet before I connected it up. It is very important that you do read the instructions before plugging in any device, so you don't cause any problems with corrupt drivers and so on. When you have to install drivers, you run the software first and then connect the cable or keyboard. The Graphite Keyboard is just a plug and play keyboard so it was just a case of connecting it to the USB port and switching it on. Having connected the keyboard or interface, I then show you how to find your device in the Windows control panel device manager. If you expand the "sound video and game controllers" section and plug your devices in you will see them appear in this section. If they appear correctly then they are properly installed and should work in your software. You will spot if you have a problem at this stage if you end up with a yellow triangle with a question mark icon. You will have to go over to the manufacturer's site for your MIDI device and work through their troubleshooting tips. Usually the problem is a corrupt driver. But assuming your device is correctly installed you are ready for the next video where I show you how to find your MIDI device, and enable it, in several different MIDI software programs. So hopefully by the end of this video you will see how to connect your MIDI interface or MIDI controller keyboard, and check for it in the device manager. The Roland USB-MIDI interface (the UM-One) is my preferred interface because it works really well on Windows, Mac and iPad, and Roland have fantastic customer support if you have problems. So far we have been recording the sound of your keyboard, and making an audio file. Now we are going to move on and look at using your keyboard as a MIDI controller. So if you make a MIDI recording then you will be recording your performance. What notes you played, when you played them, how hard you struck the notes. You can then edit this 'performance' very easily. You can transpose, speed up, slow down, change the voice to make it sound like any instrument, synth or beat. You can use it to trigger other events in your DAW digital audio workstation software. Play games. Create your own sheet music. MIDI (stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a complete protocol or language for communicating between MIDI instruments and software. From score writing (via Sibelius and Finale) to composing in DAW's (like Pro Tools, FL Studio, Reason, Logic, Cubase and so on) the world of MIDI has no limits if you want to play, create, or compose. Once you have your interface, all you need do is connect the audio line out of your keyboard to the line in of the interface and connect the interface to your iPad according to the instructions of your specific device. In this video I demonstrate by making a recording using my Avid Fast Track Duo. I chose this interface for its high quality and also multi-platform compatability. It can be used on Windows, Mac and iPad. Record With Audio Interface: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 8 Record With Audio Interface: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 8 The best way to record your keyboard or digital piano is using a dedicated audio interface. Whether you want to record on Mac, Windows, Laptop or iPad you can buy a good interface that will make a professional quality recording. It is possible to buy one interface that works on all three platforms. So far I have shown you the cheapest way to record your keyboard using just a cable connected directly to your computer. Now I am going to demonstrate how you can get a better quality recording, with an audio interface that has superior functionality. What is an audio interface? Think of it as an external sound card that connects to your computer using either USB, firewire or thunderbolt. I will be showing you step by step how I use my USB audio interface to record the sound of my digital piano. It doesn't matter which interface you choose, the principles I show you will be exactly the same once you have your interface correctly connected up. What does a typical audio interface have? Many have: professional microphone inputs with built-in pre-amps;a headphone port; speaker outputs; line inputs; possibly phantom power; and maybe MIDI and digital input and output as well. Some interfaces are very simple - for example the Alesis Linelink is a very simple recording interface designed especially for just recording the sound of your keyboard or other instrument with line out. The iRig Pro is an example of a very modern interface designed especially for iPad (but equally works on Mac) that has line, Mic, and even MIDI. It's built for iPad from the ground up and definitely worth a look. So what are the key essentials if you are considering purchasing an audio interface, and your main goal is to record your keyboard or piano? Here are what I think you should look for: 1 - Good quality line inputs - essential to get good recording from keyboard or piano 2 - If you want to be able to connect a mic, then good mic inputs (XLR) with pre-amps and preferably phantom power should you wish to record using a condenser mic 3 - The ability to direct monitor so that you can record without hearing any delay (known as latency) 4 - MIDI if you would also like to make a MIDI connection and your keyboard does not have a USB port for MIDI, or you don't own a MIDI interface 5 - Go for quality rather than a large quantity of inputs and go for the very best brand you can afford. Record Keyboard On iPad With Audio Cables: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 6 Record Keyboard On iPad With Audio Cables: Record Your Keyboard Lesson 6 You can record your keyboard or digital piano directly on your iPad using just a simple audio cable and an adapter, so you can start recording very simply for just a few dollars. In this video I show you step by step which cable and adapter you will need, how to hook them up, then how to make your first audio recording in Garageband. Garageband on the iPad is very simple to use, but there are a few settings you must adjust to make sure you get a good recording. Just proceed with caution and make sure your keyboard is switched off when you connect it to your iPad. Then ensure volume is turned right down before turning it on. You can use the settings in Garageband to gradually adjust the volume upwards to the correct level. I also show you how to toggle from the set up view to the timeline view and back. Once you have learned how to record your first track you can easily build up more tracks in the timeline/track view. You can gradually create a whole finished performance, maybe add vocals and other tracks, once you have mastered the audio connections. You will need to select the correct audio cable to connect from the audio output of your keyboard to an 1/8" stereo mini-jack. My keyboard just has 1/8" mini jack out so I just need a simple cable mini-jack to mini-jack. If your keyboard or digital piano has left and right 1/4" jack outputs then you will need a Y-Cable that has 2 1/4" mono on one end and one 1/8" stereo on the other. Record Keyboard On Mac: Connect And Record Your Keyboard Lesson 5 Record Keyboard On Mac: Connect And Record Your Keyboard or Digital Piano Lesson 5 In this video, lesson 5 in my complete course on how to connect and record your digital piano or keyboard on your computer, I show you how to connect your piano or keyboard up to the built in microphone port of your mac and make a simple recording of the sound of it in Garageband. You could use any recording software on your mac to do the same thing. You will see how to connect from the line out/audio out/aux out of your keyboard to the microphone port of your mac. My macbook as a combined mic/headphone port - confusingly only showing the headphone symbol next to it - and so I have had to use an adapter. This is available very cheaply from Amazon or elsewhere, here is a link below to the adapter so you can see what I mean http://bit.ly/1VXCsJ9 Once you have made the correct connections, the mac will recognise you have plugged in an external device. Make sure this is selected in the settings panel and then you are ready to record. Make sure you subscribe so that you can follow the complete course. Although it is possible to record your keyboard or piano on your mac using this method, and it is VERY cheap, it is not the best way and in a future video I will demonstrate how to use a dedicated external USB audio interface. But this cheap and cheerful method gives reasonable results and if you just want to make quick recordings to monitor your own progress or for getting ideas recorded then this is how you do it. Cable To Mic Port: Connect And Record Your Keyboard Lesson 3 Cable To Mic Port: Connect And Record Your Keyboard Lesson 3 Whether you want to record your keyboard on your windows laptop, mac, or iPad, it is possible to do this with just a simple audio cable. You can connect from the audio ouptput of your keyboard/digital piano to the microphone port of your computer. If you have a windows laptop or desktop computer, then you should have an 1/8" microphone input that you can use to record. You will need to be very careful to turn the volume of your keyboard and the input level of the microphone port right down when connecting and then gradually raise the levels. You should also turn off the microphone boost. If you have a macbook with microphone port, or one with the combined headphone/microphone port you will also be able to record with a simple cable, but you will need triple ring adapter, which I will show in a later video in this playlist. Same applies if you have an iPad. So in this video I just take a look at the output port on my keyboard, and the input port on the macbook and windows laptop. Then if you keep watching the videos in the playlist, I will show you how to record your keyboard with a simple audio cable on windows laptop, then the macbook, then the iPad. You can do all this with free software so this is a real budget way of making a recording. Sometimes you just have to learn to embrace the grind and fight through to reach your end goal. When attacking the task of getting my first muscle up during 15.3, I failed repeated, rep and rep, for over 9 minutes. Coach Gus just kept telling me "once you feel yourself getting on top, you just have to fight through that discomfort and hold on! Then you will have it!". And he was definitely right. This can carry over into any obstacle your trying to get past: there will be times where you are uncomfortable, but learning to dig deep and get through them is the only way to get where you want to be.
Sometimes you just have to learn to embrace the grind and fight through to reach your end goal. Digital Piano Outputs: Connect And Record Your Keyboard Lesson 2 Digital Piano Outputs: Connect And Record Your Keyboard Lesson 2 This is the second video in our complete guide to connecting and recording your keyboard on your PC, iPad or Mac. In the first video in this series you learned the difference between Audio recording (recording the SOUND of your keyboard) and MIDI recording (transmitting performance data to and from your digital piano. In this second video we will take a close look at the back of some typical digital pianos and MIDI keyboards so you can see exactly where the sound (audio) is transmitted from, and where the MIDI data goes in and out. Somewhere on your digital piano or keyboard you will have a line out, or aux out, or at least a headphone output so that you can connect and audio cable and record the sound. You can either connect this output directly to your computer - something we will look at in the next video - or you can connect it up to an audio interface (again we will look at this in detail later on). You will probably have standard MIDI ports so that you can use your keyboard or piano as a MIDI controller, and/or you may have the ability to connect your keyboard via USB. In fact USB is becoming the standard and often you won't have the MIDI ports. Generally you cannot record the SOUND of your keyboard or piano from the USB connection, it is for transmitting MIDI information. So you can use your keyboard as a MIDI controller via USB. And you might be able to save and edit song data if your keyboard allows this. (This is a common feature of Yamaha and Casio keyboards). Easy Milk and Soap Experiment
My niece wanted to do this Easy Milk and Soap Experiment. She explained it to me, and I decided that it would be a good outside activity! We did it several times, using different colors of food coloring and making different patterns. The soap binds to the fat molecules in the milk, just like it does on dirty dishes. The food coloring has no effect on the experiment, but it allows you to see the movement of how the soap attaches to the milk molecules. My niece didn't understand the science behind how the food coloring reacts, but she loved watching all of the colors swirl and mix. My niece is 9 years old, and patience isn't her strong suit, and since the results are instant, it was a perfect activity to do with her. Here are a few tips for doing the Easy Milk and Soap Experiment: 1. This will work best with whole milk. 2. Any type of liquid dish soap will work. 3. Food coloring stains, so be very careful. Doing it outside makes for easy cleanup. 4. Instead of dropping the dish liquid, dip a cotton swap into the dish liquid and touch the soapy end to the food coloring, and then touching a different spot. The designs it makes are very cool! Especially during the summer the little blood suckers can be a real pain in the ass. I really wanted to take the fight to them so I did a bit of research and found out that the US military uses ThermaCELL to keep our troops free from biting and stinging insects like mosquitoes, no-see-ums and black flies. I figure if the millatary uses it it must have been well tested by them so I gave it a try and I'll be honest I was shocked at just how effective ThermaCELL is at keeping the little bastards at bay.
